GivEnergy Repairs & Support in Doncaster
Doncaster has a wave of orphaned GivEnergy systems from Snug Energy's liquidation in December 2025. These are modern, recent installs — less than two years old — with Gen 2 and Gen 3 hybrid inverters and batteries. The hardware is fine. We handle monitoring transfer, configuration audit, warranty verification, and ongoing support. Remote and on-site.

Snug Energy was headquartered in Doncaster and was one of the region's largest solar and battery installers. In December 2025, the company entered liquidation, leaving hundreds of homeowners with GivEnergy systems that are technically fine but have no installer support. Monitoring is locked to accounts that no longer exist. Configurations were never optimised after commissioning. Warranty claims have nowhere to go. We step in and take over the full relationship.
Snug's GivEnergy installs are predominantly Gen 2 and Gen 3 hybrid inverters with 5.2kWh or 8.2kWh batteries — the same high-spec hardware installed nationwide. These systems are less than two years old and perform well technically. The problem is the business relationship has vanished.
Many Snug GivEnergy systems were left on default settings or a generic configuration after commissioning. If you've switched to Octopus Intelligent Go, Flux, or Agile since the install, the charge schedule almost certainly needs updating. A properly configured system should save £800–1,200/year — many Snug-installed systems aren't anywhere near that.
Installer accounts are not accessible. You can't see generation, battery SOC, or export data in the GivEnergy portal. You can't adjust the charge schedule yourself. You can't enable eco mode or change the export limit. You're blocked from managing your own system.
If a hardware fault develops — relay failure, inverter communication error, battery cell issue — the 12-year GivEnergy manufacturer warranty still covers it. But Snug is gone and can't process claims. We work directly with GivEnergy to verify your warranty and handle replacement or repair.
GivEnergy problems we fix most often in Doncaster
These are the faults we diagnose on Doncaster GivEnergy systems — mostly Snug Energy installs — every week. Most are resolved remotely.
Snug's GivEnergy systems have monitoring locked to an installer account that you can't access. The system is working fine but you can't see data or adjust settings. We transfer the system to your own homeowner account — full history preserved — so you regain full control and visibility.
Snug used default or generic configurations. If you switched to Octopus Intelligent Go, Flux, or Agile after installation — or were on Economy 7 when Snug installed and have since changed — the charge schedule is now wrong for your tariff. The battery charges at the wrong time or doesn't discharge during peak. A remote diagnostic optimises this in one session.
Battery shows 100% but doesn't discharge during peak-rate hours when it should. Usually the discharge schedule is either missing, set for the wrong time window, or the SOC floor is too high. Common post-install oversight on Snug systems — the installer didn't verify the battery would actually help with the homeowner's current tariff.
Gen 3 units sometimes lose CAN bus communication with the battery — system shows an error, stops charging or discharging, may go into safe mode. Usually a firmware issue or a loose connector. We diagnose via remote portal, push firmware updates if needed, or book an on-site visit to reseat connectors.
You've carefully optimised the charge schedule and export limit. A firmware update arrives — suddenly the settings are back to factory defaults. Common on Gen 3 units. We can either hold updates until a stable release, or reconfigure immediately after updates and lock the settings to prevent reversion.
Snug systems were left on defaults — we fix the configuration
A correctly configured GivEnergy system on Octopus Intelligent Go in Doncaster should be saving £800–1,200 a year on a typical household. Many Snug installations aren't anywhere near that because the charge schedule was never optimised for the homeowner's actual tariff and usage pattern. We audit every setting and configure it for maximum savings — remotely, in a single session.
Your Snug Energy GivEnergy system — we take over completely
Snug Energy liquidated in December 2025. If your GivEnergy system was installed by Snug, we handle the complete transition — monitoring transfer, warranty verification with GivEnergy directly, configuration audit, and ongoing support. The GivEnergy 12-year warranty is with the manufacturer, not Snug, so it remains fully valid. We simply step into the support role Snug has vacated.
Move the GivEnergy system from Snug's installer account to your own homeowner account. Full data history preserved. You regain full visibility and control of the system. Monitoring setup guide →
Confirm your GivEnergy warranty status directly with the manufacturer. Snug's liquidation doesn't affect your 12-year warranty with GivEnergy Ltd. If you have a covered fault, we handle the claim and coordinate replacement or repair. GivEnergy warranty details →
Check every setting — charge schedule, eco mode, export limit, CT clamp direction — and optimise for your current tariff and usage pattern. Snug systems were typically left on defaults or generic settings.
We become your new support contact. Remote diagnostics, firmware updates, tariff changes, configuration adjustments, and on-site visits as needed — just like you had a local installer who actually answers the phone.

Yes. Many Doncaster GivEnergy systems installed by Snug Energy have monitoring locked to a Snug installer account that no longer exists or is inaccessible. We can transfer the system to your own homeowner account in the GivEnergy portal — full data history is preserved. Once transferred, you own the monitoring account and can manage settings, view generation and battery data, and schedule the battery yourself. At STS Solar Tech Support, the most common GivEnergy faults we fix on Doncaster systems are: monitoring locked to an installer account (a Snug Energy legacy issue), system configured for the wrong tariff (Snug left many systems on defaults — if you've switched to Octopus Intelligent Go or Go since installation, the charge schedule needs updating), battery not discharging during peak hours (charge window mismatch or SOC floor too high), inverter communication errors on Gen 3 units (CAN bus issues between inverter and battery), and settings reverting after firmware updates (charge schedule and export limit resetting to factory defaults). Most are resolved remotely.
