I have a GivEnergy system consisting of two batteries, two inverters and a controlling EMS (Energy Management System) which has not worked since Nov 2025. After six months I discovered Solar Tech Support, reached out to them and Ron phoned me back – how often do you get that service? Could not be more helpful – worked directly with me over the phone, outside what I would call normal working hours. Lucid explanations and we were able to discuss the issues and history using camera and email history. As this was a very rare setup, Ron was able to access an EMS expert in the field to confirm the solution. One sunny day in, I am now only paying for standing charge and a few pence for spikes in grid consumption while battery catches up with house demand.

Called back within a day and gave good advice.
Ronald was great to help me sort out my giv energy inverter issue since company has gone bankrupt in april 26.
I reached on behalf of a friend, who had lost control of their battery following a storm. A couple giv energy “dealers” had attempted and said different fixes. None worked. Solar tech support solved it remotely on the first attempt almost instantly. Genuinely a 10/10 service.
Ron took me through a diagnostic to confirm my GivEnergy Inverter had a fault. A common one as it turns out with the AC Inverter. As GivEnergy is defunct there is no immediate fix, aside from sourcing 2nd hand replacement. It may be that a fix becomes available over the summer which would make a lot of GivEnergy customers happy (Again)
My Givenergy battery stopped working nearly a month ago. After unsuccessfully reaching out to my installer, who looks like he's also busted, I found Solar Tech Support on a Google search. They fixed my issue in a couple of hours. Any frustrated Givenergy customers, I highly recommend these guys.
Four product lines, three architectures
GivEnergy's residential range splits cleanly into DC-coupled hybrid inverters (paired with separate GivBat modules), the integrated All-in-One range (battery + inverter in one box), and the standalone EV charger. The Gen 3 8.0kW hybrid is the only model that uses HV stackable batteries — everything else on the hybrid side is LV.
GivEnergy Gen 3 Hybrid Inverter
The Gen 3 hybrid is GivEnergy's flagship modular DC-coupled inverter. Three output ratings (3.6kW, 5.0kW, 8.0kW), single-phase only. The 3.6 and 5.0 take LV GivBats; the 8.0 is HV-only and uses the stackable kit. All Gen 3 hybrids have in-built WiFi and LAN per the datasheet — no external dongle, no "GivHub".

GivEnergy All-in-One
Battery + inverter in a single 173.7kg floor-standing enclosure (181.3kg on the AIO 2 + MPPT). Three models in the residential range — the original AC-coupled 6kW AIO, the AC-coupled 3.6kW AIO, and the hybrid AIO 2 + MPPT with six independent PV trackers.
| Model | SKU | Output | Capacity | Warranty |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| AIO (original, AC-coupled) | GIV-AIO-AC-13.5 | 6kW continuous / 7.2kW peak | 13.5kWh LiFePO₄ | 12 yrs |
| AIO 3.6 (AC-coupled) | GIV-AIO-AC-13.5-3.6 | 3.6kW on-grid · 6kW continuous off-grid | 13.5kWh LiFePO₄ | 12 yrs |
| AIO 2 + MPPT (hybrid) | GIV-BAT-13.5-AIO2 (+ GIV-MPP-20.0-G1) | 6/8/10/11/12kW configurable · 12kVA off-grid | 13.5kWh LiFePO₄ + up to 2 expansion | 15 yrs (datasheet) |
| AIO 2 expansion battery | GIV-BAT-13.5-AIO2-E | — | 13.5kWh · 307.2V | 15 yrs |
GivBat LV battery modules + HV stackable kits
LV GivBats (51.2V) connect to LV hybrids over the proprietary plug/lug DC+comms cable — RS485 with dip-switch master/slave addressing, NOT CAN/RJ45/terminator. HV stackable kits are a separate architecture for the Gen 3 8.0kW (CAN, 307–460VDC depending on kit size).
LV GivBat range — datasheet specs
| Model | SKU | Capacity | DoD | Warranty |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| GivBat 2.6 Gen 1 | GIV-BAT-2.6 | 2.6 kWh | 80% | 12 yrs |
| GivBat 5.2 Gen 1 | GIV-BAT-5.2 | 5.2 kWh | 80% | 12 yrs |
| GivBat 8.2 Gen 1 | GIV-BAT-8.2 | 8.2 kWh | 100% | Unlimited cycles / 12 yrs |
| GivBat 9.5 Gen 2 | GIV-BAT-9.5 | 9.5 kWh | 100% | Unlimited cycles / 12 yrs |
| GivBat 5.12 Gen 3 | GIV-BAT-5.12-G3 | 5.12 kWh | 100% | 12 yrs |
| GivBat 9.5 Gen 3 | GIV-BAT-9.5-G3 | 9.5 kWh | 100% | Unlimited cycles / 12 yrs |
All LV GivBats: 51.2V nominal · LiFePO₄ · IP65. No "GivBat 10.2" — that model does not exist in the GivEnergy datasheets. Gen 1 2.6 and 5.2 are 80% DoD per datasheet; everything else is 100% DoD.
HV stackable kits (for the Gen 3 8.0 only)
| Kit | SKU | Capacity | Voltage | Weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4-pack HV stack | GIV-BAT-13.6-HV | 13.6 kWh | 307VDC | 155.3 kg |
| 5-pack HV stack | GIV-BAT-17.0-HV | 17.0 kWh | 384VDC | 190.8 kg |
| 6-pack HV stack | GIV-BAT-20.4-HV | 20.4 kWh | 460VDC | 226.3 kg |
HV stack uses CAN over RJ45 — the architecture where a 120-ohm terminator does exist (unlike LV). Comms uses the orange HV-kit connector. Per the stackable batteries manual, minimum 3 packs and maximum 6 in a single stack; commercial systems can parallel multiple stacks.
GivEnergy EV Charger (GIV-EV-7.2)
7kW at 32A · IEC 62196-2 Type 2 tethered cable · 230V single-phase input. Four configuration modes for standalone, third-party-PV CT meter, and integration with a GivEnergy inverter. Built-in Type B RCD per datasheet. 3-year manufacturer warranty (datasheet).
