Excellent service from Solar Tech Support. Extremely quick to respond, easy to deal with and clearly very talented engineers. They were persistent throughout a complex GivEnergy battery issue and resolved everything completely. Highly knowledgeable, professional and reassuring support from start to finish. Highly recommended.

Thank you for your diligence. On this occasion the battery was able to be saved but they have given a route to hopefully arrange a repair from the manufacturer.

David Bateman · Jun 2026 Google

Contacted Solar Tech Support in desperation. After explaining the issues I had with my system a diagnosis was made and a solution proposed. Fantastic service, even contacted a manufacturer to arrange replacement parts for me. Great communications, explained all they were doing and what I had to do, clearly and precisly. Followed up to confirm all was ok. Excellent service.

Ron made more sense in 20 mins than our installer has done over the last 12 months There is a jungle out there and you need someone like Ron to give a comprehensive overview and solution

David · May 2026

My 90-year-old father-in-law had a solar system installed nearly three years ago that never worked properly and kept tripping out. Neither the original installer nor GivEnergy could resolve the issues, and we were even pushed towards replacing the system entirely when GivEnergy went bust. I contacted Ron at Solar Tech Support via WhatsApp, and within a few hours he had diagnosed multiple faults — including incorrect wiring that posed a potential fire risk. He carried out a home visit in Nottingham for £295 (including parts), fixed everything, completed firmware updates, and ensured the system was fully operational. Since then, it has worked perfectly. Ron was knowledgeable, responsive, and took the time to explain everything clearly. Highly recommended — excellent value and complete peace of mind.

He was very thorough in what he did Very knowledgeable I would highly recommend Ron and his company He did a fantastic job for me. if you have any problems, he'll do his best to help you out and resolve your problem. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them

What we respond to
Inverter failure

Complete shutdown, error codes, overcurrent faults, grid relay failure, or intermittent tripping. We diagnose the root cause and carry out on-site inverter replacement where required — SMA, Huawei, Solis, SolarEdge, GoodWe, Fronius and others.

Generation loss

Sudden or gradual drop in kWh output. Could indicate string faults, failed optimisers, partial shading from new obstructions, soiling, or degraded panels. We compare actual performance against expected yield and isolate the cause.

Monitoring offline

System reporting stopped — data gaps, inverter communication lost, sensors showing stale readings. Often resolvable remotely via firmware reset, network reconfiguration, or CT clamp recalibration.

Battery storage faults

BMS errors, charge/discharge failures, cell balancing warnings, or thermal shutdowns on commercial battery arrays. Module-level diagnosis and coordination with the battery manufacturer where warranty claims are applicable.

Safety alarms

Ground faults, arc faults, DC isolation failure, or damaged cabling flagged by the inverter or external monitoring. We attend, safely isolate the affected circuit, provide a written safety assessment, and scope the remedial repair.

Export + G99 issues

Export limitation not working correctly, DNO compliance faults, or G99 relay tripping unexpectedly. Reconfigure export settings, verify protection relay parameters, and ensure the system meets its connection agreement.

How emergency repair works — 5 steps

1
Report the fault

Use the form below or call us directly. Provide as much detail as you can: error codes, which inverter is affected, when the issue started, and whether the system is still generating. The more we know up-front, the faster the triage.

2
Same-day remote triage

An engineer reviews monitoring data, error logs, and system history remotely. Many faults — communication errors, firmware issues, export limitation problems — can be diagnosed and resolved without a site visit. Remote triage is free if we cannot resolve remotely.

3
On-site attendance

Best-effort next-business-day on-site attendance. Our engineer attends with the tools, test equipment, and — where pre-identified — replacement components needed to resolve the fault in a single visit. Out-of-hours callouts available for confirmed safety issues.

4
Repair or written quote

Faulty inverters swapped, failed strings reconnected, isolators replaced, monitoring reconnected, safety issues remediated. Any larger remedial work is quoted in writing before we proceed — no surprise invoices, no work without your sign-off.

5
Written fault report

Every callout concludes with a written report: diagnosis, work completed, parts replaced, recommendations. Suitable for sharing with insurers, landlords, facilities-management teams, or the DNO if grid-side issues were flagged.

Emergency callout coverage — Yorkshire and South Wales

From our Yorkshire base we attend commercial sites across Leeds and West Yorkshire, Wakefield and the Five Towns, and the Barnsley district. In South Wales, Cardiff has a locally-based engineer — same-day to next-day on-site for urgent commercial faults. Remote triage is available nationwide.

FAQ

Commercial emergency repair — frequently asked questions

Same-day remote triage during business hours — we acknowledge the fault, pull monitoring data, and start diagnosis. On-site attendance is best-effort next-business-day subject to engineer availability and travel distance. Out-of-hours and same-day on-site available for confirmed safety issues, with the out-of-hours premium applied.
Same no-fix-no-fee model as the consumer side: remote triage is free if we can't fix the issue remotely. The callout fee is from £295 business hours, from £449 out-of-hours. Parts and any larger remedial work are quoted in writing before we proceed — no surprise invoices.
Yes — every brand, every installer. We are not tied to any manufacturer or installer network. Our diagnostic is based solely on what the equipment is doing on site and what the monitoring data shows. If the original installer is no longer trading, we can also reconstruct the documentation paper-trail you need for insurance or warranty claims.
All major commercial inverter brands: SMA, Huawei, Solis, SolarEdge, GoodWe, Fronius, Sungrow, ABB, Ingeteam. Commercial battery storage from BYD, Pylontech, GivEnergy commercial, Tesla Powerpack. Three-phase, string and micro-inverter configurations all supported, plus residential brands found on smaller commercial sites.
For pre-identified failures, yes — if remote triage confirms an inverter is dead, we source the replacement before the visit so the swap happens in a single trip. For complex commercial inverters with long lead-times, we attend first to confirm the diagnosis, then schedule the replacement once parts are sourced. All commercial inverter replacement uses the from £1,200 labour plus the part.
Yes. Every emergency callout concludes with a written fault report detailing the diagnosis, work completed, parts replaced, and any further recommendations. The report is suitable for sharing with insurers, landlords, facilities-management teams, or the DNO if grid-side issues are flagged. If the fault triggered safety isolation, the report documents the assessment and the re-commissioning steps.
You get a written quote before any extra work begins. The callout fee covers the diagnosis and the work originally scoped — if the diagnosis reveals additional faults (failed strings, BMS issues, structural problems), we scope and quote them separately so you can decide whether to proceed now or later. No work happens without your sign-off.
If the emergency reveals the system needs ongoing technical oversight — common when the original installer is no longer responsive — we can transition you onto our system-takeover service, which provides baseline audit + documentation handover + ongoing monitoring. The decision is yours.
