Enphase Microinverter Support — Enlighten, Envoy & Panel-Level Faults
Panel not reporting, Envoy offline, Enlighten showing gaps in production — we diagnose Enphase microinverter systems at the engineering level. Remote-first using Enlighten data and panel-level output history. Independent from Enphase and your installer.
One panel offline or the whole Envoy down — Enphase systems are diagnosable at panel level. We identify exact microinverter failures remotely.

A panel showing as grey or N/A in Enlighten typically means the microinverter for that panel has stopped producing. It could be a failed unit, a loose AC connector, or the microinverter has tripped its own protection. Enlighten's panel-level view makes the exact location clear.
See diagnostic guide →If all panels show as offline in Enlighten, the Envoy gateway has lost contact with the microinverters or the AC supply to the array has been interrupted. Check the Envoy indicator lights and verify the AC breaker for the solar circuit is closed.
See diagnostic guide →Unlike string inverters, a failed Enphase microinverter affects only one panel. The Enlighten portal shows the affected panel clearly. We identify whether the unit needs replacement or if an AC wiring issue is the cause.
See diagnostic guide →The Enphase Enlighten portal shows no recent data. The Envoy (IQ Gateway) has lost its internet connection. The solar system continues generating normally — only the data stream to Enlighten is interrupted. Usually caused by router change, WiFi password update, or Envoy hardware fault.
See diagnostic guide →After a router upgrade or ISP change, the Envoy needs reconnecting to the new network. This is done via the Installer Toolkit app or the local Envoy web interface at envoy.local. We guide you through the reconnection process remotely.
See setup guide →Enphase Enlighten provides panel-by-panel performance history. If overall generation is below expected, we compare individual panel outputs to identify which microinverter or microinverters are performing at reduced capacity.
See diagnostic guide →Enphase IQ7 and IQ8 microinverters carry a 25-year warranty. If a unit has failed and is within warranty, we prepare the diagnostic evidence needed to support a claim with Enphase Energy Ltd. Your installer going bust does not affect the warranty.
See diagnostic guide →Enphase IQ8 series microinverters support 'Sunlight Backup' mode — the ability to power essential loads directly from solar panels during a grid outage without a battery. This requires specific wiring and configuration that many installers haven't completed correctly.
See diagnostic guide →Enphase Enlighten panel status guide
Enphase systems report status at the panel level rather than showing single error codes. Common Enlighten statuses: grey panel (microinverter not communicating), yellow triangle (reduced production), red (microinverter error state). Share your Enlighten screenshot when you book — we identify the exact microinverter fault from the panel-level data.
What we do for Enphase owners
Remote Enphase Diagnostic
We review Enlighten panel data, microinverter output history, and Envoy connectivity logs to identify the exact fault without a site visit.
Enphase Monitoring Recovery
Installer gone bust, Enlighten access lost, or monitoring never set up? We recover Envoy access and transfer Enlighten account ownership.
Enphase System Inspection
Full panel-level performance audit — compare actual vs expected output for every microinverter, identify degraded units, verify AC wiring integrity.
Enphase datasheets, manuals & warranty PDFs
Download datasheets, installation manuals and warranty documents for Enphase microinverters and IQ battery systems. Self-hosted and always current.
Enphase fault code index

About Enphase systems — what you need to know
Enphase Energy makes microinverter systems — fundamentally different from the string inverters used by GivEnergy, Growatt, SolarEdge and others. Instead of one central inverter handling power from all panels, each Enphase panel has its own IQ microinverter (currently IQ7 or IQ8 series) mounted directly behind it. The microinverter converts DC power to AC at panel level. This means each panel operates independently — shading on one panel doesn't affect the others, and a single microinverter failure doesn't stop the rest of the array.
Monitoring is provided by Enphase Enlighten — a cloud-based portal that shows production at the individual panel level. The local Envoy (or IQ Gateway) collects data from all microinverters via powerline communication and pushes it to Enlighten. The most common searches we handle for Enphase: panel not showing in Enlighten, Enphase Envoy offline, Enphase microinverter failed, and Enphase installer gone bust. STS provides independent Enphase support across the UK — not affiliated with Enphase Energy Inc.
Enphase questions answered
In Enphase systems, each panel has its own microinverter. A panel that stops reporting in Enlighten usually means the microinverter for that panel has failed, lost AC power, or the Envoy gateway has lost its local network connection. Because each microinverter is independent, one failure does not affect the others — the rest of the system continues generating normally.
The Envoy gateway needs a stable internet connection (WiFi or ethernet) to push data to Enlighten. After a router change or password update, the Envoy needs reconfiguring through the Installer Toolkit app or the local Envoy web interface at envoy.local. The system continues generating even when Enlighten shows the Envoy as offline.
No. Enphase microinverter systems are designed so each panel operates independently. If one microinverter fails, only that panel stops generating — the rest continue normally. This is one of the key architectural differences from string inverter systems, where a single fault can stop all generation.
Enphase IQ7 and IQ8 series microinverters carry a 25-year warranty as standard — significantly longer than the 5–10 year warranties typical of string inverters. The warranty runs from installation date. If your installer has gone out of business, the warranty is still valid and runs with the product.
STS supports all major inverter and battery brands — not just Enphase. If you have a mixed-brand system or are comparing options, visit the brand hub.
