Absolutely wonderful support. I have a GivEnergy system that was installed in 2022, and a firmware update was flagged in the app, so I proceeded to update the software .... and immediately regretted it, as my inverter came up with an error, and was not working at all! With no GivEnergy support available, and my installer saying there was nothing he could do, I googled help, and found Ron. What a stroke of good luck! Submitted an on line enquiry late morning, and received phone call just after 5 pm, and later that evening Ron was able to supply me with old firmware no longer available on the GivEnergy web site. I was then able to update the firmware using a GivEnergy youtube video as reference, and hey presto the system was back up and running. One further slight adjustment by Ron and we are back normal. What a relief. I have no hesitation in recommending Solar Tech Support if you have a problem. Great service! And if you are a GivEnergy system owner, whatever you do, DO NOT UPDATE FIRMWARE!

I’ve used Ron a couple of times regarding issues with my Givenergy inverter and batteries after Givenergy went bust. My system stopped working properly so it was a stressful time but Ron resolved the issues and got my system working properly again. He’s really helpful and knowledgeable and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him and to use him again if the need arose.
My Givenergy battery stopped working nearly a month ago. After unsuccessfully reaching out to my installer, who looks like he's also busted, I found Solar Tech Support on a Google search. They fixed my issue in a couple of hours. Any frustrated Givenergy customers, I highly recommend these guys.
Our 3 year old GivEnergy batteries froze. They were showing 0% on the app, but they were fully charged. Some how Ron took over our inverter and remotely cured the problem. We live in King’s Lynn, he is in Leeds I believe. Very grateful.
Ron made more sense in 20 mins than our installer has done over the last 12 months There is a jungle out there and you need someone like Ron to give a comprehensive overview and solution
When my GivEnergy battery started playing up it became basically useless and several companies I called said they couldn’t help. Solar Tech Support really knew their stuff, communicated very well and resolved the problem quickly. Without them I’d have had to buy a replacement battery.
Common LuxPowerTek problems we diagnose
Every fault below has a proven diagnostic path. Book a diagnostic if you're unsure where to start.
LuxPowerTek LXP hybrid connected but UHome battery doesn't charge on cheap rate. Most often a Time of Use schedule configuration error in the LuxPower portal — charge window not enabled, grid charge toggle off, or SoC minimum already met. BST/GMT clock offset is a very common cause.
See diagnostic guide →Lux inverters are configured via the LuxPower portal's TOU schedule. Common issues include charge windows firing at the wrong time due to BST/GMT offset, grid charge being disabled, or the SoC target being set too high so the battery never triggers a charge. We configure the full schedule remotely.
See diagnostic guide →LuxPowerTek UHome (LFP-2400) batteries communicate with the LXP inverter via CAN bus. A BMS comm fault stops the inverter reading battery state, causing it to stop charging or discharging. Causes include a loose CAN cable, incorrect battery address configuration, or a mismatch in battery count settings.
See diagnostic guide →UHome battery fully charged but not powering the house during peak times. Commonly caused by a discharge schedule not set in the LuxPower portal, minimum SoC threshold too high, or the inverter operating in the wrong mode. EPS backup must also be separately configured if needed.
See diagnostic guide →LuxPowerTek LXP hybrid powered but not generating. Check the portal for DC input voltage — if zero or very low, inspect DC isolators and PV string connections. MPPT tracking errors can also suppress production while battery and grid functions continue normally.
See diagnostic guide →LuxPowerTek inverters comply with G98/G99 and disconnect if grid voltage or frequency is outside permitted limits. The inverter reconnects automatically. If trips are frequent — common in dense solar areas — export limiting may need to be configured.
See diagnostic guide →LuxPowerTek LXP inverters support EPS backup mode, but this requires dedicated EPS output wiring during installation and must be enabled in settings. If the house lost power during a grid outage, EPS may not have been commissioned — or the load exceeds the inverter's EPS output rating.
See diagnostic guide →LuxPowerTek uses its own LuxPower monitoring portal. If the portal shows no data, the inverter's WiFi logger has lost its connection — common after a router change or password update. The inverter and battery continue operating normally; only remote monitoring and schedule access is affected.
See diagnostic guide →LuxPowerTek dataloggers require 2.4GHz WiFi. After a router upgrade many connections drop because the new router defaults to 5GHz or uses band steering. We reconfigure the datalogger remotely and restore access to the LuxPower portal.

About LuxPowerTek systems — what you need to know
LuxPowerTek (often referred to as Lux Power or Lux) is a Chinese manufacturer producing hybrid inverters and LiFePO4 battery systems for the UK residential market. Their core UK range includes the LXP-3600, LXP-5000, and LXP-6000 single-phase hybrid inverters, paired with the UHome (LFP-2400) battery module — a 2.4kWh stackable LFP unit with 90% depth of discharge and a 30A charge/discharge rate. Multiple UHome modules can be stacked to build the required total storage capacity. Systems carry an IP65 rating and a 10-year battery warranty.
Monitoring and schedule configuration is managed through the LuxPower monitoring portal (luxpowertek.com). The inverter's WiFi logger must maintain a stable 2.4GHz connection for remote access to work. The most common queries we handle for Lux Power systems: Lux Power battery not charging overnight, LuxPower portal offline, UHome BMS communication fault, Lux grid disconnection, and LuxPowerTek Octopus setup. Lux systems are sometimes sold as Infinity Innovations branded packages in the UK. STS provides independent support — not affiliated with LuxPowerTek.
STS supports all major inverter and battery brands — not just LuxPowerTek. If you have a mixed-brand system (e.g. Lux inverter with Pylontech or Dyness batteries), visit the brand hub.
