Brilliant support to get my solar battery working again. I didn’t expect help on a Saturday but Ron answered the phone, listened and sent me the information I needed to get it going, answered questions etc. A brilliant service I’d happily recommend.
Commercial solar system takeover
- Baseline audit + handover from £895 · final scope quoted in writing first
- Documentation recovery + monitoring access transfer included
- Independent — no manufacturer or installer bias
Single fixed-scope onboarding after a free scoping call. No retainer — ongoing fault response is the same no-fix-no-fee rate-card as the consumer side.
Start a takeover scoping callMassively massively recommended. We had a big battery array (49kW across three phases) put in four years ago. c £35k cost. It’s been a total nightmare for many reasons, not least 1. our installer being totally useless and unresponsive and 2. Givenergy, our battery supplier, going bust. Long story short it had never worked anywhere near properly despite countless hours on phones and emails; the best we’d achieved was one third of the batteries working. Rather than write it off, I asked a PM friend to try to source someone who could come on site and review and revive the system. He found Solar Tech Support and Ron. Ron assured us he was the man to get it going again. After so many years of pain, I was not convinced but, true to his word, five hours later it was up and running. Lovely chap, super knowledgeable with a support team to lean on who are also clearly super technical. I honestly didn’t think there was much chance of getting this array going ever again so was absolutely delighted when Ron and team pulled it off. Bravo!
Our 3 year old GivEnergy batteries froze. They were showing 0% on the app, but they were fully charged. Some how Ron took over our inverter and remotely cured the problem. We live in King’s Lynn, he is in Leeds I believe. Very grateful.
Thank you for your diligence. On this occasion the battery was able to be saved but they have given a route to hopefully arrange a repair from the manufacturer.
Contacted Solar Tech Support when trying to understand what my Givenergy inverter problem might be and what might be my options. Received good/honest advise which backed up my thoughts.
I have a GivEnergy system consisting of two batteries, two inverters and a controlling EMS (Energy Management System) which has not worked since Nov 2025. After six months I discovered Solar Tech Support, reached out to them and Ron phoned me back – how often do you get that service? Could not be more helpful – worked directly with me over the phone, outside what I would call normal working hours. Lucid explanations and we were able to discuss the issues and history using camera and email history. As this was a very rare setup, Ron was able to access an EMS expert in the field to confirm the solution. One sunny day in, I am now only paying for standing charge and a few pence for spikes in grid consumption while battery catches up with house demand.
Takeover pricing
One-off onboarding fee. Includes on-site audit, documentation recovery, monitoring transfer, written baseline report.
For 50–150 kW commercial systems where the audit needs a full day on-site and more involved documentation work.
After handover, fault response uses the standard rate-card — free remote triage, from £295 on-site callout. No locked-in retainer.
The most common takeover scenario. Monitoring locked, no warranty contact, orphaned documentation. We handle the full recovery: documentation rebuild, monitoring access transfer, and a clean technical baseline.
Current O&M arrangement is too expensive, too slow, or too commercially conflicted. We can baseline the system while your current contract is still active — no gap in coverage during the transition.
You've just bought or leased a commercial property with existing solar. You need to know what condition it's in, who looks after it, and what the maintenance commitments are. The takeover handover gives you a clear technical and contractual reset.
System was installed and then forgotten about — common with FIT-era commercial installs where the installer never offered ongoing maintenance. We build the maintenance regime from scratch.
Your insurer or facilities-management contract now requires named technical oversight on the solar installation. The takeover engagement gives you a documented commercial relationship with an independent provider — no manufacturer or installer conflicts.
Property management company with solar across multiple sites and inconsistent maintenance histories. We onboard the whole portfolio with a single baseline-audit cycle and consistent technical records across all sites.
How the takeover works — 6 steps
You tell us where the system is, approximate size, brand if known, and why you're looking for a takeover. 15 minutes by phone or video. We confirm whether we can take it on and what the baseline-audit fee will be.
Fixed-price baseline audit + handover scope, in writing. Larger systems get a bespoke scoping document. You commit before we schedule the on-site work.
Full inspection: inverters, panels, cabling, isolators, battery storage where present, monitoring hardware, DNO connection. Components identified, wiring verified, faults catalogued. Half a day for small systems, a full day for larger.
We chase whatever paperwork we can: original commissioning certificates, MCS/RECC records, DNO connection agreements, FIT or SEG paperwork, warranty status. Where records are gone, we reconstruct from on-site evidence.
Portal access transferred to STS, alerting reconfigured to come to us, historical performance data exported and stored. If the original installer locked the portal, we work with the manufacturer to re-establish access.
Written baseline report covers system condition, all faults found, remediation quote (if any), and the documentation file. Then the system is under our care — ongoing fault response uses the standard no-fix-no-fee rate-card. No retainer.
