I had a red status light on my GivEnergy battery pack and Ron at Solar Tech Support was a great help resolving the problem. He was able to do a remote diagnosis of the invertor BMS firmware and hardware and gave very quick practical and professional support. Thanks Rob
Have you Giv’in? Has your installer Giv’up? Independent GivEnergy support that actually fixes the problem.

I reached on behalf of a friend, who had lost control of their battery following a storm. A couple giv energy “dealers” had attempted and said different fixes. None worked. Solar tech support solved it remotely on the first attempt almost instantly. Genuinely a 10/10 service.
I've spoken to Ron a couple of times with issues with my Givenergy installation. Such a friendly knowledge guy very highly recommended. Thank you very much for resolving my issues
Ron very quickly diagnosed what was wrong with my GivEnergy system. Unfortunately the kit has died after only 3.5 years of use-which is quite sad and timing couldn’t be worse with GivEnergy gone bust. Ron gave me advise on how to handle this with my installer. I’m hoping they’ll be forthcoming, but if they aren’t i now have a good idea how to deal with that. Thanks a lot Ron!
Ron want out of is way to help, nothing was to much. He was very thorough in what he did Very knowledgeable I would highly recommend Ron and his company He did a fantastic job for me. if you have any problems, he'll do his best to help you out and resolve your problem. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them
This company are a rare gem, I had a very unusual problem following a failed firmware upgrade on my GivEnergy kit. I then found out GivEnergy were in administration and had dismissed all their support staff! None of the usual fixes to try and restore my inverter comms would work, and I looked everywhere, forums, GivEnergy youtube support videos - even AI couldn't figure it out. My installer was talking about huge sums for system replacements, and being vague / evasive about if they'd even install replacement GivEnergy inverter. Enter Solar Tech Support, reassuring and knowledgeable from the very start, I've learnt loads about my solar system though the friendly chat while my engineer worked as he diagnosed the problem and figured out a fix procedure that I've not found anywhere else - amazing. If you need solar system repairs - especially if you like me have been left high and dry by GivEnergy, I cannot recommend this company enough. Give them a call.
Common GivEnergy problems we diagnose
Every fault below has a proven diagnostic path. Click through for the specific page or book a diagnostic if you're unsure.
Charge windows look correct but battery stays empty. Octopus Intelligent, Agile, and Go tariff configuration errors. CT clamp misread causing the inverter to think demand is already met.
See diagnostic guide →Inverter loses communication with battery over the CAN bus. Firmware mismatch, termination issues, cable faults, or BMS lock state after a protection event.
See diagnostic guide →Flash patterns on the GivEnergy battery indicate different fault states — BMS protection, over-temperature, cell imbalance, or communication loss. Do not open the unit.
See diagnostic guide →Battery shows full but house uses grid power. Paused battery, reserve level too high, Export First mode, or discharge power limit set to zero.
See diagnostic guide →Charge schedule or system mode keeps reverting. Usually caused by an external API, energy provider integration, or GivBack programme controlling your inverter.

About GivEnergy systems — what you need to know
GivEnergy was one of the UK's most popular solar battery brands, with hybrid inverters, All-in-One units and modular battery stacks installed across hundreds of thousands of homes. GivEnergy Ltd entered administration on 9 April 2026 — but the hardware itself runs on local firmware and continues working. STS supports GivEnergy systems independently. See our administration update for the verifiable record.
Inverter and battery communicate over a CAN bus — a common fault path when communication breaks down after firmware updates or power interruptions. The GivEnergy portal (givenergy.cloud) and mobile app rely on a WiFi dongle (Gen 1/2) or built-in WiFi/LAN (Gen 3); when this loses connection — router change, firmware bug, hardware failure — the portal goes dark even though the system may still be generating.
GivEnergy systems work particularly well with Octopus Energy tariffs (Intelligent, Agile, Go) when configured correctly. Many reported issues with battery not charging on cheap rate trace back to incorrect charge window settings, CT clamp orientation errors, or SoC minimum thresholds.
If you're searching for GivEnergy repair UK, GivEnergy battery not charging, GivEnergy portal offline, GivEnergy CAN fault, or GivEnergy red light, STS provides independent diagnostic and repair support across the UK — not affiliated with GivEnergy Ltd.
