Thank you for your diligence. On this occasion the battery was able to be saved but they have given a route to hopefully arrange a repair from the manufacturer.

Brilliant support to get my solar battery working again. I didn’t expect help on a Saturday but Ron answered the phone, listened and sent me the information I needed to get it going, answered questions etc. A brilliant service I’d happily recommend.

A superb service from Ron who went beyond the normal service received from other Tech support companies. I live abroad and was badly let down when my givenergy system failed (and the company went bankrupt) and the local supplier ran away from the problem. Ron sorted the problem and even accessed specialist coding for the inverter that would not be available for suppliers. Ron also ran a full diagnostic to insure that all was in good working order afterwards. Without Rons support and patient assistance I doubt I would ever have got the system back up and running. Well done and thankyou and you have a customer for the future.

Absolutely wonderful support. I have a GivEnergy system that was installed in 2022, and a firmware update was flagged in the app, so I proceeded to update the software .... and immediately regretted it, as my inverter came up with an error, and was not working at all! With no GivEnergy support available, and my installer saying there was nothing he could do, I googled help, and found Ron. What a stroke of good luck! Submitted an on line enquiry late morning, and received phone call just after 5 pm, and later that evening Ron was able to supply me with old firmware no longer available on the GivEnergy web site. I was then able to update the firmware using a GivEnergy youtube video as reference, and hey presto the system was back up and running. One further slight adjustment by Ron and we are back normal. What a relief. I have no hesitation in recommending Solar Tech Support if you have a problem. Great service! And if you are a GivEnergy system owner, whatever you do, DO NOT UPDATE FIRMWARE!

Prompt and useful support regarding my Sunsynk system lack of performance. Ronald simplified the technical issues to make them understandable. Many thanks, looking forward to follow up.

What actually goes wrong with Sigenergy kit

A fair share of Sigenergy "faults" are nothing of the sort. SigenCloud showing no data usually means the SigenStor gateway has lost its WiFi after a router change, broadband switch or password update. The gateway only connects to 2.4GHz networks, so new routers catch it out. The inverter and battery carry on working the whole time.

Grid protection trips are the next regular theme. A SigenStor that keeps disconnecting is doing its job: under G98/G99 it must drop off when grid voltage goes above 253V, which happens at midday in streets full of solar. SigenCloud shows whether the cause is grid voltage, a wrong grid code setting or a DC isolation fault. Then there are battery module alarms. Most are transient BMS communication dropouts that clear with a proper power cycle; the stubborn ones come down to firmware mismatches between stacked modules or, occasionally, a failed module.

We start every job the same way: a free remote look at your SigenCloud alarm and event logs, so you know what has actually failed before anyone quotes for a visit.

FAQ

Sigenergy fault questions answered

Almost certainly not. The SigenStor inverter and battery carry on working when monitoring drops out. What has usually happened is the gateway losing its WiFi connection after a router change, broadband switch or password update. The gateway only connects to 2.4GHz networks, so new routers and mesh systems catch it out. Check the gateway LEDs first, then reconfigure the WiFi through the Sigenhome app. If it still will not connect, we can diagnose it remotely.
Most of them, yes. SigenCloud gives us the alarm and event logs, so we can read battery BMS faults, check firmware versions across modules, review grid code settings and talk you through a proper power cycle or a gateway WiFi reconfiguration over the phone. What we cannot do remotely is physical work: isolation faults need on-site insulation resistance testing, and a failed battery module needs an engineer to isolate and replace it. We confirm the diagnosis remotely first either way.
The remote diagnostic is free, and it stays free if we cannot fix the problem. No fix, no fee. We review your SigenCloud alarm and event logs, work out whether the fault is a comms dropout, a settings issue or genuine hardware, and tell you straight. If a battery module has actually failed, you get the evidence you need for a warranty claim, and any on-site work is quoted separately before anyone travels.
