Solis Inverter Support — Grid Faults, SolisCloud & Monitoring Recovery
Grid voltage fault, SolisCloud offline, no export, system underperforming — we diagnose Solis (Ginlong) inverters at the engineering level. Remote-first using monitoring data and error logs. Independent from Solis and your installer.
Most Solis faults are diagnosed remotely in a single session. Tell us what you're seeing and we'll work it out.

Common Solis problems we diagnose
Every fault below has a proven diagnostic path. Click through for the specific page or book a diagnostic if you're unsure.
Inverter powered but not generating. Check the SolisCloud dashboard for error codes. Common causes: DC isolator tripped, string fault, or grid disconnection fault. Solis inverters give a clear fault description in the monitoring.
See diagnostic guide →The inverter has disconnected from the grid because AC voltage exceeded G98/G99 limits. Common in streets with multiple solar systems. The inverter reconnects automatically, but if trips are frequent, export limiting or DNO notification may be required.
See diagnostic guide →SolisCloud shows generation well below expectations for your location and panel count. Could be partial string failure, soiled panels, or an inverter operating at reduced capacity. We compare expected vs actual output to isolate the fault.
See diagnostic guide →SolisCloud (formerly Ginlong Portal) shows no data. The WiFi datalogger has lost connectivity. Usually caused by router change, password update, or logger hardware failure. The inverter continues operating normally when monitoring is dark.
See diagnostic guide →Solis dataloggers require 2.4GHz WiFi. After a router upgrade or change, the logger needs reconfiguring. We walk through the SolisCloud logger setup process remotely.
See setup guide →System generating but not exporting to the grid. Most commonly caused by the export limit setting in the inverter being set to zero, a failed CT clamp, or a G98 export configuration error.
See diagnostic guide →Solis inverters use a CT clamp to measure grid import/export. If installed backwards, the inverter misreads grid flow — leading to incorrect export limiting, wrong energy accounting, and battery dispatch errors on hybrid models.
See diagnostic guide →Solis inverter completely dead — no display, no fans, no response. Could be a failed AC or DC isolator, a wiring fault at the inverter input, or a hardware failure. Safety note: do not open the inverter.

Solis inverters display error codes on the LED panel and in SolisCloud. Common categories: grid fault codes (voltage, frequency), isolation fault codes, DC bus faults, and temperature warnings. Share your exact code when you book — we identify the root cause as part of the remote diagnostic.

About Solis systems — what you need to know
Solis (made by Ginlong Technologies) produces affordable, reliable string inverters that are well-regarded in the UK residential solar market. The product range includes the S5 and S6 series single-phase inverters and the RHI series hybrid inverters with battery integration. Monitoring is provided by SolisCloud (formerly the Ginlong Monitoring Portal) via a WiFi datalogger. Solis inverters are known for their simple, no-fuss operation — but the monitoring system can be tricky to reconfigure after router changes.
The most common Solis issues we handle: Solis grid voltage fault, SolisCloud offline, Solis not exporting, Solis underperforming, and Solis installer gone bust. Grid voltage faults are disproportionately common with Solis systems in solar-dense streets — this is a grid infrastructure issue, not a fault with the inverter itself. STS provides independent Solis support across the UK — not affiliated with Ginlong Technologies.
Solis questions answered
A grid voltage fault on a Solis inverter means the AC voltage at the connection point has exceeded the upper limit set in the G98/G99 standard (typically 253V in the UK). This is a safety protection — the inverter disconnects to prevent damage and avoid causing problems for your neighbours. It is common in areas with high solar density. The inverter reconnects automatically when grid voltage normalises.
SolisCloud (formerly the Ginlong Portal) relies on a stable WiFi connection from the inverter's WiFi datalogger. After a router change, password update, or internet outage, the logger loses connectivity. The inverter continues generating normally — only the monitoring data stream is interrupted. The logger needs reconfiguring through the Solis setup process.
Most Solis string inverters carry a 5-year manufacturer warranty as standard, with options to extend to 10 or 20 years. The warranty runs from installation date. If your installer has gone out of business, the warranty is still valid — it runs with the product, not the installer.
The most common causes of a Solis system not exporting are: the export limit being set to zero in the inverter settings, a failed CT clamp giving wrong readings, or a DNO export restriction not being configured correctly. We identify the specific cause remotely using monitoring data and inverter settings review.
STS supports all major inverter and battery brands — not just Solis. If you have a mixed-brand system or are comparing options, visit the brand hub.
