STS Solar Tech Support provides specialist diagnostics and repair services across all major solar and battery storage brands available in the UK. Whether your system is a GivEnergy hybrid inverter with Pylontech batteries, a SolarEdge string system with power optimisers, a Growatt SPH with built-in battery support, or any other combination of hardware, we have the knowledge to diagnose faults and guide repairs. We're completely independent from manufacturers and installers, so our diagnostics are impartial and focused on identifying the real cause of the problem.

Each brand has its own quirks, common failure modes, and configuration best practices. A fault code that means one thing on a GivEnergy system might mean something entirely different on a SolarEdge. The same configuration setting that works on one brand might cause problems on another due to subtle differences in firmware logic or communication protocols. We maintain detailed fault databases for every major brand we support, built from hundreds of real repair jobs over many years. This deep brand knowledge means we can often identify the problem within minutes of reviewing your system data.

Whether your system was installed last month or over a decade ago, we can diagnose and repair it. Even if your inverter is no longer manufactured or your battery brand has been discontinued, we often have the spare parts and technical knowledge to get the system working again. Click on your inverter or battery brand below to access brand-specific troubleshooting guides, common faults, and detailed setup documentation. If you're not sure which brand you have, we have a guide to help you identify your system.

Choosing the right brand page

If you know your inverter brand, click through to its dedicated page above. Each brand page includes brand-specific troubleshooting guides, common fault codes, setup documentation, and known firmware issues. This allows you to focus on the faults and settings that are most relevant to your specific hardware, rather than wading through information for brands you don't have.

If you don't know your inverter brand, the easiest way to find it is to check the label on the front, side, or bottom of your inverter — the brand name and model number are usually printed clearly. Alternatively, log into your monitoring app (the app or portal you use to check your solar generation). The app homepage or settings page typically shows the inverter brand and model. If you're still unsure, we have a detailed guide to identifying your inverter brand and model that walks through the most common places to look.

If your fault isn't brand-specific — for example, if you're trying to understand why your system isn't generating, or you want general information about battery charging modes — visit the general problems section instead. The problems pages are brand-agnostic starting points that help you diagnose the fault, after which you can come back to your specific brand page for brand-specific configuration steps or fault code interpretation.

Legacy

Legacy & discontinued brands

We also support a range of older and discontinued inverter brands that are no longer manufactured but are still in use across the UK. If your system uses Aurora (Power-One, later ABB then FIMER), Eversolar, Solar River, Trannergy, or similar legacy hardware, we can still help assess and repair the system. Many of these older inverters are exceptionally reliable and often worth maintaining rather than replacing — even a 10-15 year old system can often be restored to full function with the right diagnosis and repair.

The main challenge with legacy systems is parts availability. Replacement inverters for discontinued brands may no longer be in stock at distributors, which means you may need to source components second-hand or consider a full system replacement. During a diagnostic, we'll assess the fault and advise whether repair is practical and cost-effective. In many cases, we can source spare parts or provide interim solutions to keep an older system working. If your brand isn't listed below, contact us directly — we likely still support it or can advise on your options.

If your legacy inverter brand isn't listed above, contact us directly — we likely still support it or can provide guidance on your options. Many older systems are worth maintaining, and we can help you make the right decision.

Not sure which brand you have?

Check the label on the front of your inverter — the brand name and model number are usually printed there. We also have a guide to identifying your system.

Common questions

Yes. We support all major inverter and battery brands including GivEnergy, SolarEdge, Growatt, Sunsynk, Solis, Enphase, Huawei, Fronius, Fox ESS, Tesla Powerwall, and many others. We also support legacy and discontinued brands like Aurora, Eversolar, Solar River, and Trannergy. If your brand isn't listed on this page, contact us — we likely still support it or can advise on your options.

Almost certainly yes. If your brand isn't shown on this page, contact us with your inverter model number and details of the fault. We maintain technical documentation for a much wider range of brands than we've listed here, and our engineers have experience with systems beyond the major mainstream brands. Even if we haven't worked on that specific brand before, our diagnostic methodology and fault-finding approach applies across all solar systems — we can often identify the problem and advise on the best path forward.

All brands develop faults from time to time — there's no brand that's immune to problems. However, in our region GivEnergy and Growatt are among the most common systems we see, which means we encounter a wider variety of faults across these brands simply due to their installation volume. That said, the most common faults (battery not charging, CT clamp reversed, WiFi connectivity, firmware issues) appear across all brands. The good news is that most faults, regardless of brand, have identifiable causes and are fixable once properly diagnosed.
