Commercial solar operations & maintenance
Independent O&M for commercial solar PV and battery storage systems. We maintain, monitor, repair, and replace — from inverter swaps to full system takeover. Annual inspections, real-time fault monitoring, emergency response, and no manufacturer bias.
Full-lifecycle support for commercial solar assets:
Why independent commercial solar maintenance matters
Most commercial solar maintenance providers in the UK are also installers. That creates a structural conflict of interest — the same company that benefits from selling you new hardware is the one advising you on whether your existing equipment needs replacing.
STS is not tied to any manufacturer, installer, or distribution network. We carry out inverter replacements, component swaps, and hardware repairs — but we have no incentive to recommend work that is not necessary. When we say a component needs replacing, it is because it does — not because we profit from a preferred supplier relationship.
That independence is why our inspection reports carry weight with landlords, facilities managers, and procurement teams. If you need an objective assessment of a commercial solar asset — whether for acquisition due diligence, insurance compliance, or performance benchmarking — our reports are written without a commercial agenda.
We work with all major inverter and battery brands used in UK commercial installations. Our engineers are experienced with three-phase systems, string and micro-inverter configurations, large-scale battery arrays, and the monitoring platforms that connect them. Read more about how we work.
Operations & maintenance contracts
Annual on-site inspection, real-time fault monitoring, performance reporting, and priority access to our engineering team. Structured contracts with clear SLAs — no rolling subscriptions, no hidden fees.
Emergency commercial repair
System down, inverter failure, safety alarm. Same-day remote triage, next-business-day on-site for contract holders. Non-contract emergency callouts available subject to availability.
System takeover
Inherited a building with solar. Original installer gone. Current O&M provider not performing. We conduct a baseline audit, get monitoring online, and transition the system onto an STS contract.
Independent performance audit
One-off on-site inspection and performance assessment. Due diligence before acquisition, a second opinion on system performance, or an independent report for insurance or compliance purposes.
Facilities managers
You are responsible for the solar asset on a commercial building and need a reliable, independent maintenance partner. You want clear SLAs, scheduled inspections, automated fault alerts, and a single point of contact when something goes wrong.
Property owners & landlords
You own or have acquired a building with a commercial solar installation. You need to know what condition it is in, whether it is performing to specification, and who is going to maintain it going forward. You may need an independent audit for insurance or tenancy compliance.
UK businesses with solar
Your business invested in solar to reduce energy costs. The installer who fitted it may no longer be trading, or the commercial solar maintenance they promised has not materialised. You want an independent provider who will keep the system running and tell you the truth about its condition.
How we work
No account setup, no minimum term for one-off audits. O&M contracts are agreed in writing before any work begins.
Tell us about your system — size, brand, age, current maintenance arrangement (if any), and what you need. We will confirm whether an O&M contract, a one-off audit, or an emergency callout is the right starting point.
We provide a written proposal covering exactly what is included, the annual cost, SLA terms, and any additional services available. Nothing starts until both sides have signed off.
For new O&M contracts and system takeovers, we begin with a baseline inspection — a full assessment of current system condition, monitoring status, and any faults or underperformance. This establishes the starting point for ongoing maintenance.
Scheduled annual inspections, real-time monitoring (where the equipment supports it), written reporting after every visit, and priority access to our engineering team for faults and emergencies. If the system needs connectivity setup to enable remote monitoring, we can arrange that for an additional fee.
Commercial O&M questions
A standard STS commercial O&M contract includes an annual on-site inspection covering all inverters, panels, cabling, isolators, and battery units; real-time fault monitoring with automated alerts (where the equipment supports remote connectivity); a written performance and condition report after each inspection; and priority access to our engineering team for fault response. Additional services such as thermal imaging, panel cleaning, and compliance documentation are available as add-ons. Full details on the O&M contracts page.
Annual O&M contracts start £795 per year for a standard commercial rooftop system. The exact cost depends on system size, number of inverters, accessibility, and whether battery storage is included. All pricing is confirmed in writing before any contract begins. One-off audits and emergency callouts are priced separately — get in touch for a proposal.
Yes. We regularly take over O&M for commercial systems where the original installer has ceased trading, the current provider is underperforming, or the building has changed ownership. We conduct a baseline audit to assess current system condition, get monitoring online if it is not already, and transition the system onto an STS O&M contract. There is no penalty or lock-in period on our contracts. See the system takeover page for more detail.
Yes — we support all major commercial inverter and battery brands used in UK installations, including GivEnergy, Sunsynk, SolarEdge, Growatt, Solis, Fox ESS, Huawei, SMA, Fronius, and Enphase. We work with string inverter systems, micro-inverter arrays, hybrid systems with battery storage, and three-phase installations of all sizes. Full brand coverage is listed on the brands page.
O&M contract holders receive priority emergency response — typically same-day remote triage and next-business-day on-site attendance for faults that cannot be resolved remotely. Non-contract emergency callouts are available but subject to engineer availability. Response times and SLA terms are confirmed in your contract. See the emergency repair page for more detail.
STS is an independent solar support and maintenance company. We carry out inverter replacements, component swaps, and hardware repairs — but we are not tied to any manufacturer or installer network. We have no distribution agreements and no incentive to recommend unnecessary work. That independence is why our audit reports and fault assessments carry weight with insurers, landlords, and procurement teams.
