WiFi setup & dongle configuration
GivEnergy requires 2.4GHz WiFi. These guides cover every dongle type and router configuration scenario.
New router, changed password, or first-time setup. 2.4GHz requirement, band-steering routers, and common connection failures including Eero mesh systems.

GivEnergy systems require 2.4GHz WiFi — 5GHz is not supported. For the AECC multi-connect dongle, connect to the dongle's hotspot at 10.10.100.254 using default credentials (admin / 123456) and enter your home WiFi details. For the HF21 dongle, use the GivEnergy app's WiFi setup wizard. If you've recently changed your router or password, you need to repeat the setup process. See our WiFi dongle guide for full step-by-step instructions.
Firmware updates are done through the GivEnergy portal at givenergy.cloud. Log in, navigate to your inverter settings, go to the Software section, and press Update if a new version is available. The process takes 5–30 minutes. If the update stalls, wait a full hour before doing anything — restarting mid-flash can corrupt the installation. Always check your charge schedule and export limit settings afterwards. See our firmware update guide.
Register at givenergy.cloud using the details from your installation documents, enter your inverter serial number to link your system, and confirm WiFi is connected. The portal gives you live power flow, historical data, charge schedule controls, and system mode settings. See our portal guide for full navigation and setup instructions.
